Rising like a phoenix from the streets of Boston, up-and-comers theWandas are, through much hard work and extensive touring, gaining recognition as one of the best bands in America. Having been compared to Wilco, Elvis Costello, The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen and The Strokes, theWandas recently edged out several hundred bands to win the 95.5 WBRU Rock Hunt, and received overwhelming praise at the South By Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas. Plan to be here for the Saturday night after-hours “Rock the Docks” party on the Main Stage, headlined by theWandas! “The four-piece group theWandas separate themselves from the large pack of Boston pop bands with a tightly designed, smart sound... Expect this Berklee-bred band to do what many others have done: blow up.” [David Day - The Weekly Dig]

THE SCHEMERS

The Schemers is a Providence, Rhode Island rock band started back in 1979 recording on Big Bubble Records. The Schemers were the winners of the 1982 WBRU Radio Rock Hunt in Providence, R.I., and then the 1984 WBCN Rock 'n' Roll Rumble, in Boston, MA. Their hit single, "Remember," was the number 1 song on WBRU for over 10 weeks in early 1982. They had a sound that was a cross between a punk Elvis Costello and a dissatisfied Tom Petty ("I've had enough of these plain-Jane girls/ I think it's time I went downtown," sang lead singer Mark Cutler in "High Fashion Girl") and then on the nostalgic "Remember" ("I know I'm going somewhere/ maybe in the ground, maybe nowhere"). The Schemers played the North East Corridor and opened up for bands like X, The Ramones, Tom Verlaine, Richard Lloyd, Richard Hell, the Dead Kennedys, Jerry Lee Lewis, Sam and Dave and many many others.

THOSE GUYS

In September of 1996, Those Guys began, like most bands, in a basement in Somerset, Massachusetts. Since that time, they have been a staple in the RI bar scene--especially in their home town of Newport. Playing from Washington, DC to northern Vermont, they have shared the stage with acts as diverse as Staind, The Adam Ezra Group, and Saving Jane to Bo Bice, Cary Brothers, & Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul, & Mary. While spending much of their time in the bars that they have made a name for themselves, they are now a popular choice in the circles throughout New England that demand a high-quality form of entertainment for private parties, weddings and corporate events catering to the 20-something through 50-something year-olds who refuse to act their age. Those groups include but are not limited to the Newport International Film Festival, The New England Patriots, high-profile members of the Boston Red Sox organization, The University of Rhode Island, Salve Regina University, Raytheon Corporation, and Georgetown Events in Washington, DC.

STEVE SMITH AND THE NAKEDS

The band has shared the touring stage with Bruce Springsteen's saxophonist, Clarence Clemons for a series of critically acclaimed performances. They have been featured on television, appearing on MTV's video countdown program "The Basement Tapes", and more recently, an episode of "The Family Guy". In 1994, Steve Smith and The Nakeds performed with Clarence Clemons for President Bill Clinton at his rally for health care reform in Washington, D.C.
