	Featured Artist: SHANA MORRISON www.shanamorrison.com The daughter of legendary Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, one might expect Shana Morrison’s musical palette be as eclectic as the influential and acclaimed soundtrack of her childhood. And indeed, her material seems to be ever-changing and hard to pin down categorically; her musical style has been called pop with a side of blues and a side of rock, and she’s also been known to incorporate other ingredients like country, R&B, and jazz into the mix. What always remains the same, though, is Shana's unique and wide-ranging voice.


	Featured Artist: PENDRAGON www.pendragoncelticmusic.com New England has long had a rich tradition of Celtic-inspired music. Looking forward to their 27th anniversary in 2010, the Rhode Island-based ensemble Pendragon has embraced that tradition and created a timeless sound of its own, performing roots music with an unmistakable contemporary edge. Pendragon’s music celebrates the lives and lore of generations of New Englanders who brought traditions from Ireland, Scotland, French Canada and other distant shores to the banks of the Blackstone River.


	Featured Artist: THE ELDERS www.eldersmusic.com.com Take a group of wicked-fine Kansas City musicians with a passion for Celtic music, with an Irishman with a love of all things American, and you get a cross-pollination that is high-octane and progressive yet rooted in tradition. What the Elders have created is something unaffected by fads, trends and the giant maw of mind-numbing commercialism - Celtic rhythms and melodies augmented with amped-up roots rock, blazing instrumentals and powerful vocals. Theirs have been called “songs of magic and mayhem and of better days ahead… contemporary Irish folk rock at its very best.”


	Featured Artist: CALLEY MCGRANE AND THE EXILES www.calleymcgrane.com Guests during the early years of the Newport Waterfront Irish Festival will recall Calley McGrane’s first appearances as a diminutive 11-year-old fiddle player who captivated audiences with her skill, energy, and purity of sound. Nearly a decade later, together with her band The Exiles, Calley has matured into one of the region’s top fiddling talents, and has grown into a capable vocalist as well. Calley McGrane and the Exiles’ essence is still the traditional musical ethos harking to Calley’s early days, but the band’s driving rhythms and contemporary influences propel the music solidly into the Celtic rock genre.


	Featured Artist: EILEEN IVERS www.eileenivers.com Fiddler Eileen Ivers has established herself as the pre-eminent exponent of the Irish fiddle in the world today. Ivers’ recording credits include over 100 contemporary and traditional albums and numerous movie scores, all revealing why Ivers is hailed as one of the great innovators and pioneers of the Celtic and World music genres.


	Featured Artist: THE MAKEM & SPAIN BROTHERS www.makem.com Not in the past 30 years has a group taken the international stage with such vocal power and stage presence, capturing the essence of their genre while remaining truly unique, as the Makem and Spain Brothers. The Brothers are at their best onstage, where their talent and enthusiasm draw in fans who have never experienced the joy of folk music.


	Featured Artist: THE SCREAMING ORPHANS www.thescreamingorphans.com The Screaming Orphans have carved a considerable reputation as a captivating live band both in Ireland and abroad. The Orphans draw on a diverse set of influences, ranging from Simon & Garfunkel to REM, and maintain a strong focus on melody-driven songs interwoven with both pop and rock strains.


	Featured Artist: THE GLENGARRY BHOYS www.glengarrybhoys.com Described as bold, unorthodox, vibrant, and evocative, the Glengarry Bhoys’ hybrid of Canadian Highland Scots and French Canadian musical idioms has evolved into a sound that is weighty, authoritative, and extremely entertaining. Contagious energy and good humor, as much a part of the show as their musicianship, cross all cultures and ages.


	Featured Artist: THE TOWN PANTS www.thetownpants.com Rarely does one find a band in any genre with that rare blend of passion, energy, animation and spirit. Armed with a pawnshop’s worth of acoustic musical instruments, The Town Pants have performed their own brand of Celtic roots-flavored fast-folk at over 1,500 shows since their inception – what has been called “songs that old men can sing in pubs and that kids can dance to.”


	Featured Artist: THE NEVIN ACADEMY DANCERS www.nevindanceacademy.com The Nevin Academy of Irish Dance trains dancers of all ages from throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. These elite dancers compete locally, nationally and in World Championships, and carry on the Irish culture and tradition through performances at special events and shows throughout the year. Led by Maura Nevin, who founded the Academy in the South Shore of Boston more than 35 years ago, Nevin Academy dancers have captured many regional, national and World Medals – both as solo dancers and Ceili teams.

	Featured Artist: THE TARTAN TERRORS www.tartanterrors.com Taking the Celtic scene by storm, the Tartan Terrors, North America's premiere Celtic Event, features the best in music, comedy and dance, bolstered by the blistering piping of a Two-Time World Champion Bagpiper, the driving tones of drums from around the world, and a guitar played unlike any you've ever heard. Combine this musical prowess with championship calibre Highland Dancers and intentionally recognized comedic performers and this Celtic Group goes beyond the ordinary.


	Featured Artist: ROCKLAND COUNTY AOH EDWARD V. LARKIN MEMORIAL PIPE BAND www.evlarkinmemorialpipeband.org The Pipes & Drums of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Rockland County, New York was founded by Edward V. Larkin in 1984. Larkin, a retired New York City police officer, had the idea of starting a bagpipe band in the Irish-rich Rockland County after his retirement from the NYPD in 1981. In early 1984, the first of many bagpipe and drum classes began. In the years to follow, countless performances at high-profile national and international events, as well as television appearances and the release of an album, would propel the band toward becoming one of the most successful bagpipe bands in the tri-state area.
