Time to get down and dirty with this amped-up celebration of blues, beer, and bbq on Saturday, July 20th. The one-day, 10-hour festival promises musical powerhouses and a BBQ Alley brimming with smoky goodness. This years line-up includes James Cotton Blues Band, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Matt “Guitar” Murphy with Rick Russell & the Cadillac Horns, Ronnie Earl & the Broadcasters, and Quinn Sullivan. Wow! Pair that with savory offerings and cold brews, and you’ve got the recipe for a quality dose of southern hospitality right here in downtown Newport.

Finger-Lickin’ BBQ Galore
While you soak in the sun and sounds of our Blues masters, check out a variety of pit-masters who will be dishing out some of the best savory barbeque in the area. This year’s festival food list will be on its way soon!
Matt “Guitar” Murphy played in the bands of blues legend Howlin’ Wolf’s and jump blues pianist, singer and composer, Memphis Slim. He alsoperformed session work with many musicians, including Muddy Waters, James Cotton, Etta James and Chuck Berry, and in 1978 joined The Blues Brothers and can be seen in the films The Blues Brothers and Blues Brothers 2000. This year at the Blues & BBQ Festival, the Blues Mobile will be on display for all to view. Come check it out.
The menu abounds with smoky goodness including BBQ ribs and chicken, pulled pork, smoked salmon, smoked sausages, burgers, hot dogs, collard greens, fresh made ribbon chips, and specialty desserts, served up by:

Q: Does my ticket allow me access to see all of the entertainers from noon to 10pm?
A: Yes! When you purchase a general admission ticket you have access to all areas of the festival including the main stage, courtyard stage, the Waterfront BBQ Alley & Bar. The event will have guest seating areas throughout the festival and open space in front of both stages.
Q: Does my ticket allow for re-entry throughout the day?
A: Yes! We offer a flexible re-entry policy for this event to allow you to explore all that downtown Newport has to offer just beyond our gates, but we hope that once you’re here enjoying the music, savory BBQ, and waterfront views, you’ll never want to leave!
Q: Are kids welcome?
A: Yep! All kids under 12 years old are free with an adult and do not need a ticket. There will be some kids activities happening during the day to keep the little ones entertained. With the exception of a Whole Hog Pass ticket – children 2 years and older require a ticket to this reserved section and more. See above for details.
Q: Are pets welcome at the Newport Blues & BBQ Festival?
A: We love those furry friends, but unless they are certified assistance service animals, unfortunately we cannot allow them inside the event.
Q: I’m bringing a big appetite. Can you tell me about the BBQ?
A: Our BBQ Alley will feature a great selection of BBQ fare—from pulled pork to smoked salmon. You can purchase tangy and tasty portions from some of the area’s best smokers and grillers in the area.
Q: Can I bring my own chair?
A: Sure! You are welcome to bring your own chair, but if you’d prefer not to, there are various seating areas throughout the venue.
