Featured on the Food Network and Travel Channel, the legendary Great Chowder Cook-Off officially kicks off summer on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at a new location- stay tuned, we will announce the new home very soon!
The original and longest running chowder championship draws competitors and crowds from across the country. Attendees enjoy endless samples of traditional and exotic creations from dozens of restaurants and then vote for your favorite! Winners walk away with overflowing prize pots and bragging rights for the year. Live entertainment, food and bar options, kids’ activities sweeten the deal for all festival-goers.
The Chowdahead Club is an exclusive-access pass for our hardcore chowder fans. Membership grants you access to the Chowder Power Hour, a one-hour preview event from 11am-12pm before the gates officially open to the public. These members can navigate the event before the crowds arrive, meet the chefs, greet participating team members and get the very first tastes of the 2015 chowder creations. The Clamcake Chow Down Returns
Chompers of all makes and models are invited to compete at this year’s colossal Clam Cake Chow Down. The crumbs will be flying in two fast and furious heats as the best clam cake consumers of the day race to conquer a half-dozen delightfully golden clam cakes the fastest, leading up to the Grand Finale. Who will claim the crown as the 2015 Clam Cake Chow Down Champion? Come join the competition…and maybe it will be you!
A Little Live Music With Your Chowder
It may be “all about the chowda,” but what’s better on a summer day without musical accompaniment? Soak up the sounds of live, island-vibe entertainers found on various stages throughout the day including Rhode Island’s favorite reggae band, The Ravers.
The Chowdahead Club
The Chowdahead Club is an exclusive-access pass for our hardcore chowder fans. Q: HOW DO I GET MY TICKETS AND WHEN IS WILL CALL OPEN?
A: Tickets will be available soon – $20 in advance and $25 day of the festival.
It’s easy to grab your tickets! The fastest way to get your tickets is to order online and print them right at home. To order by phone call 1.800.745.3000. A box office and will call will be available on the event day, beginning at 10am.
Q: IF IT RAINS, DOES THE EVENT GO ON?
A: Of course! The event is rain or shine and you are welcome to bring an umbrella if it does rain.
Q: ARE PETS WELCOME AT THE GREAT CHOWDER COOK-OFF?
A: We love those furry friends, but unless they are certified assistance service animals unfortunately we cannot allow them inside the event.
