Oktoberfest on the Newport waterfront—our official sendoff to summer, and salute to the arrival of autumn.  Join us for our annual reunion of friends and family enjoying the tastes, sights, and sounds of our little Bavaria by the Bay.  Seasonal brews, and savory German cuisine compliment the lively and spirited sound of music spilling from the Biergartens.  This year, there will be three Biergartens and expanded outdoor courtyard space for endless amounts of festivities. Prost!

Planning Notice for Guests:
Saturday of Oktoberfest
is traditionally more congested, and has an active, college/”beer fest” vibe.  Families with younger children and strollers, and Senior patrons, should seriously consider attending on Sunday.

Sunday of Oktoberfestt is traditionally less congested and easier to navigate. Families with younger children and strollers, and Senior patrons may find Sunday a more enjoyable experience.

Tapping of the Keg!

Join us Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm in the Biergarten Tent for our traditional tale of the origins of Oktoberfest dating back to 1810 in old Bavaria. A special guest Burgermeister will officially get the beer flowing for the weekend, with the symbolic tapping of the first keg.  Prost!

Samuel Adams Stein Hoisting Event

Think you can hoist a full liter stein longer than anyone else? The Samuel Adams Stein Hoisting Competition returns to the International Oktoberfest! on Saturday, October 11th! We log everyone’s time to see how each person stacks up against your fellow beer lovers across the country. Thanks to Samuel Adams, the man and woman with the longest hoist time will be eligible to travel to Germany next year to celebrate.
