It's Time to Get Things Cookin'!
The greatest international chowder championship will officially commence the start of the summer season on Saturday, June 5th, from 11 am - 6 pm. Enjoy endless samples of chowder prepared by a culinary tour de force of creative chefs from around the globe, each perfecting a recipe to provoke all challengers in the ultimate quest for chowder triumph. Restaurants are competing for cash-clams in three categories: Clam, Seafood, and Creative, as well as a Clam Cake competition. New in 2009 was our "Most Spirited" award, given to the people's choice of the best booth on the block in any category - The Barking Crab! So drop by and cast your vote for your favorite chowder, as the power is in your spoon (and taste buds) to name this year's winners!
But it's not just about the chowdah', we've got three stages of live entertainment that is sure to knock your seafood-lovin' socks off. Paired with a healthy helping of children's activities, this is one clam-tastic festival that landlubbers can rejoice in, too!
Looking back at our 2009 winners!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the 2009 Schweppes Great Chowder Cook-Off an immense success. From our fantastic participating restaurants, to our energetic exhibitors, to the voters that exercised their power to crown the next chowder king, everyone came together this past June 6th to create an unforgettable event. As best stated by one of our restaurants - "Yes We Clam!"
So a great big heartfelt THANK YOU is extended from our team to all of you, and we look forward to doing it again in 2010! See you there!
