After taking up the guitar at just 13 years old and traveling the world exploring a number of musical interests and styles, Boz Scaggs launched his recording career in 1969 with his self-titled debut album. The album was met with much success and set the tone for Scaggs’ career marked by a number of hits, featuring his unique mix of blues and R&B sounds. In 1975, following his multi-platinum release Silk Degrees, Scaggs won a Grammy for “Lowdown,” Best R&B song. After a brief hiatus in the early 1980s, Boz Scaggs returned and continues to make top-charting hits and actively touring around the world, showcasing his respect for a wide spectrum of American roots music.
