The Stars and Stripes would be thrilled to wave on the trio of talent that’s on deck for the month of July. They’ve all received Grammy nods, and now they want to share their soulful crooning with their fellow Americans right here at the Newport Yachting Center! Michael McDonald, an acclaimed solo artist also of the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan fame, will be in town to sing some favorites on Friday, July 24th.
The Robert Cray Band will perform their powerful blend of rhythm, blues, rock and soul the following night on Saturday, July 25th. End the first full month of summer on a high note as Chris Isaak swaggers back into the spotlight to share his latest musings on the ups and downs of love on Wednesday, July 29th. Independence Day this year marks the start of two very important events in the historic town of Newport – the birth of our nation, and the beginning of the biggest comedy series ever to sweep the city! Come celebrate with us as we kick things off on July 4th, where you can jest and joke with crowd favorite

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the 2009 Schweppes Great Chowder Cook-Off an immense success. From our fantastic participating restaurants, to our energetic exhibitors, to the voters that exercised their power to crown the next chowder king, everyone came together this past June 6th to create an unforgettable event. As best stated by one of our competitors – "Yes We Clam!" Ultimately, however, only a select few can emerge victorious. In this democratic election, highest honors were awarded to some old favorites as well as some new faces.
